Houston Recycles

Its great to see the citizens of Houston recycle, and the city is trying to keep up with the pace of the people by offering neighborhood recycling centers now that going green in Houston, is mainstream.

The self sort recycling center located on 3602 Center Street is a great place to drop off recyclable materials (but the bins fill up quickly) to keep the cycle going if the city hasn’t yet started a curbside recycling program in your area.

Time for the City to order a few more large recycling bins.

THE CENTER ST. FACILITY IS OVERFLOWING AND DUMPSTERS ARE INACCESSIBLE DUE TO STANDING WATER. RECYCLING MATERIALS ARE PILING UP IN THE PARKING AREA, AS THERE IS NO ROOM IN THE DUMPSTERS AND/OR DUMPSTERS ARE INACCESSIBLE. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR RECTIFYING THIS SITUATION.

    Hi,
I moved to Houston 4 weeks ago but I was really surprised and felt very bad when I was told that there was not curbside recycling program active in my neighborhood . I feel somewaht relieved now after figuring out that I have the 3602 Center st recycle center not far from where I live. However, I still believe that the city of Houston should provide curbside recycle pick up in just any neighborhood of the city to make it easier for those (still to many!) who just don’t feel like making the effort of driving somewhere to dispose of their recyclables.
